Olympia Should Finally Adopt a Clean Fuel Standard


In Washington state, the Senate is debating legislation to create a clean fuel standard. Under the proposed law, oil companies would simply have to blend low carbon fuel made from renewable or waste resources with the fuel they already sell. These standards are already in place in California, Oregon, and British Columbia.

By asking fuel makers to reduce their emissions that cause pollution, this bill would help make our communities healthier places to live and pump billions of dollars into our state’s economy. That’s why some of our state’s largest employers like Amazon are standing behind a clean fuel standard.
