Minority Coalition Of Businesses Offer Support For HB 1091

WBBBA cites negative health impacts of dirty fuel on communities of color.


In a strongly worded letter, Washington Build Back Black Alliance (WBBBA) endorsed HB 1091 last week prior to a hearing in Washington’s State Senate Committee on Environment, Energy, & Technology.


The alliance, which includes mainstay organizations like the Urban Leagues of Seattle and Tacoma, Tabor 100, WOW Tri-Cities, and the RAIN Incubator, said the clean fuel standard was important to their constituency because “Black and other BIPOC community are more likely to live near busy highways and airports–and are much more likely to suffer significant health impacts from the toxic-polluted air.
